THE senior national women’s team coach Shadreck Mlauzi has said he is confident they will beat Tanzania in the first leg of the African Women’s Cup of Nations qualifier to be played this weekend in the east African country.

He said they had utilised the short training period they have had together and were ready to continue with their history-making streak.

The Mighty Warriors made history by becoming the first local football side to qualify for the Olympic Games.  They take part in the games to be held in the popular Brazilian tourist playground of Rio de Janeiro in August.

“We trained thoroughly in the short space of time we had and we’re ready for the tie. We want to win this leg and have an advantage in the reverse leg,” said Mlauzi.

The Mighty Warriors are set to leave for Tanzania early tomorrow morning. If they go past Tanzania, they face Namibia or Zambia in the next round of qualifiers.

This weekend’s game will be the Mighty Warriors’ first competitive since beating Cameroon 1-0 in the final qualifier of the Olympics Games in October last year.
