BORDER Strikers coach Saul Chaminuka is confident his Premier Soccer League new boys will survive the topflight heat. Speaking after his side lost 2-3 to fellow PSL newcomers Bulawayo Chiefs in a friendly on Saturday, Chaminuka said they have been working on team organisation and were now focusing on the defence.

“In as far as preparations are concerned, I believe we’re on track. We’ve managed to try a number of players during the three training matches we’ve had. We’ve also worked on team organisation, maintaining shape when defending or when in possession of the ball. We’ve been conceding a lot, but on the positive side, we’ve managed to keep shape and now need to fine tune a few things,” said Chaminuka.

“I’m positive that we can build a team to reckon with and I know we’ll be able to come up with a competitive side.”

Chaminuka has brought in a sizeable number of players with PSL experience, who include the former ZPC Kariba duo of Stephen Sheshe and Tawona Muchaya, Michael Mwenya formerly with Caps United, ex-Shabanie Mine’s Kudzanai Kwashi and the pair of Ephraim Mwinga and Peter Muzondo, who were at Triangle United last season.
