FORMER Hwange coach Weekly Mwale has bounced back into mainstream football following his appointment as head coach of ambitious Hwange-based Zifa Southern Region Division One side Technosphere.
Mwale returns to mainstream football since his last stint with Hwange in 2003.
The lanky coach takes over from Try Ncube, who is now assistant coach at Premier Soccer League debutants Bulawayo City, and has declared his intentions of guiding Technosphere to the Premiership, so the coal mining town can have more topflight football.
Mwale will be assisted by his former player at Hwange, Thamsanqa Vundla.
“It’s true that I am now with Technosphere. The club is ambitious and our intention is to have two clubs from Hwange playing in the elite league. We are serious about that and remain confident that we will achieve that target,” said Mwale.
He has already roped in forceful forward Simba Sithole, who was with Bulawayo City last season. Also in their ranks is former Hwange player Maqhawe Mpofu.
“Simba is now our player and we hope his experience will come in handy as we endeavour to conquer our league,” said Mwale.
Technosphere begin their 2016 season with a derby clash against newly promoted ZRP Hwange on Saturday.
They will be hoping to start on a high note if their dream is to be realised. They ended the 2015 season in third place with 56 points, 15 points behind eventual winners Bulawayo City, whom they beat home and away.
