SOUTH African football agent ONE10SPORT has extended an invitation to Zimbabwean coaches that wish to advance their qualifications to register for the Scottish C-Licence to be held in July.
The Scottish C-Licence, which runs from July 3-25 at the University of Pretoria High Performance Centre, will enable local coaches to filter into the Uefa courses for the Uefa B Licence.
The coaching clinic offers courses that are at par with the Uefa syllabus and the Scottish FA has seen the likes of Jose Mourinho, Sir Alex Ferguson, Brendon Rogers and Andre Villas Boas all graduating from the institution.
According to online reports, ONE10SPORT is dedicated to “producing the country’s next top players, coaches and managers”.
“The college is the facilitator for globally recognised European Football Coaching Courses in South Africa. Coaches who complete the C Licence through ONE10SPORT are eligible to filter into the Uefa courses for the Uefa B Licence.”
Justin Behrens, ONE10SPORT director, said they expect a number of Zimbabwean coaches to attend the clinic.
“This is a perfect opportunity for African coaches, who can’t travel to Europe, to further their qualifications right here at their doorsteps. We’ve had lots of coaches from Zimbabwe asking about the Scottish C-Licence and we’re looking forward to them coming through,” said Behrens.
“The course fee is £1,070 or the equivalent in rand. This money caters for the Uefa log book, tuition and other course material. To enrol, one has to be a holder of a Caf C-Licence or better,” Behrens said.
Some Zimbabwean coaches that hold the Scottish C-Licence include Chicken Inn’s assistant coach Thulani Sibanda, former Nust gaffer Joseph Sibindi and ZPC Hwange’s Njabulo Dube.
