SOUTH African-based Zimbabwean cage fighter Elvis “Bulawayo Bomber” Moyo is ready for tonight’s Extreme Fighting Championship Africa (EFC) 50 battle against Ricky Misholas at Sun City in Rustenburg. Moyo, who last fought in December when he knocked out Vandam Mbuyi at Carnival City in Johannesburg, gets an opportunity to secure a possible title fight if he beats the Congolese Misholas.

“I’ve worked hard for this fight and have lots of respect for Misholas, who was man enough to face me. I’ve had two fights cancelled since January due to opponents chickening out. I was supposed to fight in March, but failed to get an opponent.

“On May 13, I also failed to get a challenger, but I’m excited to be part of EFC Africa’s 50th edition and I want to celebrate by beating Misholas,” Moyo said. Moyo switched to cage fighting in 2014 after going for a lengthy period in boxing without a bout. He is facing Misholas for the first time in his career and the fight promises to be a thriller.

Misholas and Moyo had a June 2015 fight cancelled at the last minute, resulting in Moyo facing Tomasz “Kredka” Kowalkowski of Poland, who handed the Bulawayo Bomber his third EFC Africa career loss after just 37 seconds. Moyo has an impressive record of five victories from eight fights, while Misholas has won wins three from the same number of fights.

Moyo’s victories in EFC Africa were against Sors “Guru” Grobbelaar in his debut cage fight in March 2014, Wilhelm “Tiny” Strauss in August and Didier-Kilola in November of the same year. He also beat Lance Cerenio last year in February.

The Bulawayo Bomber lost twice in 2014 to Brendon Groenwald in May and to Andrew Van Zyl in July. In June last year, Moyo also lost to Poland’s Tomasz “Kredka” Kowalkowski.

Misholas’ victories were against Dewald Botes, Strauss and Paul Kietzmann, while his defeats were inflicted by Cyril Asker, Didier, Ruan Potts, Grobbelaar and Mahmoud Hassan.
