SOUTH African Premiership outfit Maritzburg United have confirmed their interest in Zimbabwe international defender Blessing Moyo with a R400,000 bid for the Harare City man. In a letter to Harare City dated July 6, 2016, signed by the team’s operations manager Quintin Jettoo, Maritzburg United are willing to take the former Dynamos fullback aboard subject to the player passing a medical and agreeing personal terms with the club.
The club also proposed that if the deal sails through, Harare City will pocket five percent from the player’s onward transfer. Harare City secretary-general Mathew Marara confirmed they were approached by the ABSA Premiership team and said they were still on the negotiating table. “I can confirm that Maritzburg United has tabled a R400,000 offer for Blessing Moyo.
“That is something which is very positive from a developmental point of view. We don’t stand on any player’s way if a better club comes knocking.
“But, we are much concerned about the player’s welfare. In as much as we want to see these players play for better teams, we want to avoid a situation whereby the player’s welfare gets worse off than what they were used to here,” he said. Marara said the two teams will most probably conclude talks this weekend.
If Moyo joins Maritzburg United, he will join another Zimbabwean international Evans Rusike who is on the team’s books.
