BULAWAYO Province tennis team scooped a silver medal in the Inter-Provincial tennis tournament that was held in Harare on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Harare province scooped gold while Midlands province walked away with bronze.
Bulawayo also scooped the best team award for being the best dressed, best disciplined and best supported team.
“I am happy with the way our guys played. We just hope they will keep up this spirit when we play in other competitions,” said team manager Nomvelo Ngwenya.
In the Dunlop trophy Under-12 girls, team Bulawayo consisting of Nicole Madukutire, Hailey Banda, Munashe Bera and Onika Ndlovu came first, Harare (A) came second while Midlands came third.
In the Under-12 boys section, Bulawayo were runners up while Harare (A) and B came first and came third respectively.
In the Under-14 boys, Bulawayo were runners up, Harare (A) and Harare (B) again came first and third while in the Under-14 girls, Harare (A) came first followed by Harare (B) while Bulawayo were third.
Harare (A) topped the group in the Dunlop trophy Under-12 and Under-14 followed by Bulawayo and Harare (B).
In the Brooks Under-18 boys, Team Bulawayo consisting of Tanaka Chabata, Hillary Ncube, Tinashe Hwata, Phiwo Moyo and Andrew Banda came out champions. Harare (A) came second and Midlands came third.
Bulawayo were third in the Under-18 girls section, whilst Harare and Midlands came first and third respectively.
