MOSI Rovers FC stormed into the Zifa Southern Region Division One league after edging town rivals Amagagasi Under-19 2-1 at Chinotimba Stadium on the final day of the Zifa Mat North Division Two league last Sunday.

The race to decide the second team to be promoted had to be decided on the last day.

Mosi will now join Baobab Rovers who were promoted on a technicality.

It is believed that Moto Moto principals said they cannot have two teams in the league as that will be too strenuous on their budget.

Moto Moto is an army outfit which already has Indlovu Iyanyathela.

Rovers prevailed through goals by Leib Chiyoko and Munyaradzi Muchenje with Gladmore Mkandla getting the goal for Amagagasi Under-19.

At Megawatt Ground, Baobab Rovers scored through Milton Mtungwa with Madodana Lunga’s last minute gasp equaliser dampening the home team’s spirits.

Moto Moto capped the season in style with a 2-0 win over Tenex FC thanks to goals by Willard Bembenene and Nkosiyazi Sibanda.

At Lwendulu Old Ground, Hwange Under-17 ended the season with smiles after thumping arch rivals Blackrock 3-1 with goals by Proud Muleya, Rivaldo Chuma and Kudzai Matanda making all the difference.

Veteran midfielder Gideon Makotose grabbed the consolation goal for Blackrock.

A resort town derby between Trumus Warriors and Classic Luyando ended 2-0 in favour of Luyando courtesy of goals by Craig Mabhena and Brilliant Mabhena.

At Lukhosi Ground, hosts Lukhosi Pirates surprisingly and in an uncharacteristic manner, blew a 3-0 lead gained through goals by Moses Khumalo (brace) and Alexis Munsaka to draw 3-3 with Ingagula FC who clawed back through a Wayne Shumba brace and another by Delight Dhlamini.

Troubled Iwisa finally got the “first win” of the season and three points to their name, albeit without kicking a ball after walking over Corinthians on a 3-0 score line.

The team had only garnered four points, from four draws throughout the entire season.
