Zimiseleni Moyo

TSHOLOTSHO FC utility player Zimiseleni Moyo will leave the Zhwane outfit when his contract runs out on December 31, with sources saying PSL clubs ZPC Kariba, Triangle United and Bulawayo City are interested in his services.

Moyo, one of the outstanding players for Tsholotsho in the second half of the season, was instrumental in the side’s relegation fight.

The former Railstars left footer, who can play as a left-back, defensive midfielder or attacking linkman, joined Tsholotsho during the 2016 midseason transfer on a six-month contract.

“He has set his sights on leaving Tsholotsho when his contract runs out. He just has to decide on which club to join because ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa has been in constant touch with him and so is Biggie Zuze of Triangle United. He met Bulawayo City officials two weeks ago and today they called him to their office, but he didn’t sign because he doesn’t want to complicate things since his contract is still running,” said the source.

Chronicle Sport yesterday spotted the dreadlocked player outside City’s offices housed at the Tower Block.

Moyo was evasive about his next move, but would neither confirm nor deny that ZPC Kariba, Triangle and City are after his signature.

“My contract runs out at the end of this month and Tsholotsho want me to stay, but I haven’t figured my next move. Obviously being in offseason, people are bound to talk and since I’m about to be a free agent, some may link me to a number of teams. There are some teams that have made enquiries about my availability, but I think its early days to talk about them. I’ll let you know about my next move, but I’m grateful to Tsholotsho for giving me the platform to showcase my talent,” said Moyo.

The former Zesco player spent 2015 and part of 2016 unattached after terminating his deal with the Zambian outfit in 2014.

If Moyo decides to move, it will be a big blow for Tsholotsho, who recently lost the services of another utility player MacClive Phiri to Zimbabwe’s Caf Confederations Cup representatives Ngezi Platinum Stars.

The platinum miners, who are eager to make a mark in the continental competition, have added City’s captain Xolisani Moyo and Dynamos’ Dominic Mukandi to their squad.

“I can confirm that we have signed MacClive ((Phiri), Xolisani (Moyo) and Dominic (Mukandi) and we are currently busy registering all our players,” said Jeremiah Gasiteni, the Ngezi Platinum chairman.

Xolisani could have moved to Ngezi Platinum as a free agent, after the player wrote to City demanding that they terminate his contract, citing a breach of contract by the local authority bankrolled club.

He claimed City owed him a total of $4 300, which includes three months’ salary, outstanding signing-on fees for 2016 and winning bonuses.

The player also claimed that City failed to provide him a residential stand they promised when the club gained promotion into the PSL after winning the Zifa Southern Region Division One League title in 2015.
