THE Zifa Bulawayo Province Soccer League will hold its awards ceremony today at a city hotel with Bulawayo City FC chairman Jerry Sibanda being the guest of honour. Provincial chairperson Washington Sithole said the awards are meant to honour players for their efforts throughout the season. “We’re happy with the way players performed last season and it’s only proper that we don’t let their efforts go unnoticed. We hope that next year the standards will even be higher,” said Sithole.
At the awards, the region will honour the Top Goal Scorer of the Year and Most Disciplined Team.
In Division Two, Prince Dube of Highlanders Academy became the league’s top goal scorer after netting 20 goals in the 2015 season.
The two promotion tickets were won by Talen Vision who ended the league with 59 points while Bosso Academy landed the second ticket with 55 points.
Toronto FC were named the most disciplined team after getting one red and 39 yellows cards from the beginning of the season. The team ended the season on a respectable sixth position with 46 points.
In Division Three, Ciwu FC’s Keith Chikami won the top goal scorer accolade after scoring 15 goals.
